"Preparing for the Drug Free Years" (PDFY)
Preparing for the Drug-Free Years (PDFY) Workshop Leaders Training provides participants with the information and all materials necessary to implement this research based parent education program with the parents of 1st-6th graders. Based on the research by Dr. J. David Hawkins and Dr. Richard F. Catalano, this program is part of the Seattle Social Development Project which is cited in the NIDA publication "Preventing Drug Use Among Children and Adolescents" as one of ten research-based programs that have had positive results. This video-based parent education program can be implemented in schools, community-based agencies or in the workplace.

Parent Connection
This one-day training prepares support group facilitators previously trained in the use of "Kids' Connection", "Youth Connection" and Family Connection" to implement "Parent Connection", Rainbow Days' companion Curriculum-Based SUpport Group (CBSG) program for parents/guardians. The Training includes a copy of "Parent Connection".
NOTE: To be eligible for this one-day training, you must have successfully completed Rainbow Days' two-day "Curriculum-Based Support Group Facilitator Training."
NEW: For those who wish to implement the "Parent Connection" program, but are not implementing children's groups, we now offer a TWO-DAY "Parent Connection Training" that will teach all the skills necessary to facilitate this program with parents/guardians.

Strengthening Families Program
The Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth 10-14 (SFP) has seven 2-hour sessions for parents and youth which include specific activities designed to help parents/caregivers learn nurturing skills that support their children, teach parent/caregivers how to effectively discipline and guide their youth, give youth a healthy future orientation and an increased appreciation of their parents/caregivers, and teach youth skills for dealing with stress and peer pressure. The long range goal of SFP is reduced substance use and behavior problems during adolescence.
This two-day training provides participants with detailed demonstrations of the SFP sessions including information and directions for facilitation. Training is required in order to be certified to teach the Strengthening Families Program. In order to be certified, groups of at least three facilitators per program site must receive training. One facilitator teaches the parent group, two facilitators teach the youth group and all three work with the families in the family session.
The Strengthening Families Program is recognized as an exemplary, scientifically-studied curriculum by: The Office of Juvenile and Delinquency Prevention, The National Institute on Drug Abuse, and The US Department of Education.

"ALL STARS" Training
This two-day training prepares professionals to implement ALL STARS, a universal prevention program. ALL STARS teaches character-based life skills to youth between the ages of 11 and 15, focusing on drug abuse, violence and premature sexual activity prevention. ALL STARS was created by William H. Hansen, PHD, president of Tanglewood Research and is based on risk and protective factor research.
The curriculum for community settings consists of 15 sessions (9 core group session and 6 optional one-on-one sessions), plus 7 booster sessions, that use highly interactive activities.
