LIFE SKILLS TRAINING

"Life-skills education for elementary and middle school classrooms."

LST TRAINING SCHEDULE

Life Skills Training Program (LST)
The Life Skills Training (LST) Program is a remarkably effective tobacco, alcohol, and drug abuse prevention program for elementary, middle, or junior high school students. It was developed by Dr. Gilbert J. Botvin, an internationally known expert on drug abuse prevention. The LST program is based on the latest scientific evidence of what causes drug abuse and how best to prevent it. It is cited in the NIDA publication, "Preventing Drug Use Among Children and Adolescents" as one of ten research-based programs that have had positive results. This exciting program provides adolescents with the motivation and skills necessary to resist peer and media pressure to use drugs. This training is open to any individual or program interested in implementing a school-based prevention program. LCDC, CPS credit pending.

Those completing the training receive:
  • One Teacher's Manual
  • One Student Guide
COST: $10 materials fee (for Texas residents)

*If you live outside of Texas, please call for fee information*

"Life Skills Teacher Training" is funded through a grant from the Texas Commision on Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
