CURRICULUM-BASED SUPPORT GROUPS

"Life-skills education for at-risk children and youth in a support group setting."

CBSG - Kids' Connection TRAINING SCHEDULE
CBSG - Family Connection TRAINING SCHEDULE

Rainbow Days’ Curriculum-based Support Group (CBSG) Facilitator Training provides participants with the information and skills necessary to be a support group facilitator with children. It is based on the curriculum-based support group model of prevention which Rainbow Days helped to pioneer and expand. The program is designed to teach life skills in a support group to at-risk and high-risk children. It can be implemented in school, shelter, and community settings. This two-day training is open to any individual or program interested in implementing a curriculum-based support group program.

This training will provide information on:
  • Resiliency and protective factors in children and youth
  • The benefits of a support group program in your school, shelters, and communities
  • How to implement a support group program in your school, shelter, or agency
  • The role of the facilitator
  • Substance use and its impact on children and youth
Those completing the training receive a copy of the curriculum in which they are trained – Kids’ Connection (4-12 year olds) or Family Connection (for children ages 4-12 living in shelters and other transitional environments). Curricula are not available for purchase separate from training.

COST: $10 materials fee (for Texas resident)

*If you live outside of Texas, please call for fee information*
